All Done

Finished. Completed. No more. Carried through. Brought to a close. Ended. Finalized. Wrapped up.

With the reading of Alice In Wonderland, I finished my reading challenge:
9 books in 9 categories in 2009
You can check out what I read here!

Now my sister's talking about 10 books in 10 categories in 2010...
Am I up to the challenge??

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Over two and half years ago, one of the preparedness/home storage gurus in my stake saw me with an individual size Tropicana orange juice bottle. She asked me if she could have the empty bottles. Okay, why not...
I forgot about them. Why would I remember??

Since then her husband has been put in our Bishopric and I've gotten to see a lot more of her. At the Ward Christmas party earlier this month she hands me a gift and asks me if I know what that is? I pull it out and look at it:
It's such a cute snowman... and the shape does look familiar... like I should know what it is. Then she tells me that it's one of my very own juice bottles from two+ years ago! Crazy! It's a cute way to recycle those babies, though!

Secret Pal

Each semester at work we play a "Secret Pal" game. We first fill out a short survey of interests, favorites, etc and submit it to a big pot. Then with the help of an abstainer, we each pick out a survey describing a colleague.

Throughout the course of the semester, and with the help from the survey, we're supposed to leave a little treat, note, pick-me-up, etc for our "Secret Pal" each week. Nothing expensive, just something to let them know we're thinking of them.

I think we've done this three times now and I have loved playing this game. It is so fun to not only get little treats in my box, but I have loved picking out things that I know my Secret Pal would like, too. It's fun to use other colleagues to help 'spy' or to send along your secret message.

I have always been spoiled by my Secret Pal and have ended up with some really fun (and tasty) things. This go-round, we revealed our Secret Pals at our holiday luncheon. I about fell over dead when I saw my final treat!!
Not only was there a huge basket full of fun stuff, but I got my very own personalized water bottle cozie. I know my jaw dropped when Ms. Ricketts (My secret pal) gave it to me, and she asked if she had spelled my name wrong. But that was just it!! She didn't!! With an uncommon spelling of my name, it's difficult to find anything personalized. That's why I was so excited! I reassured her she had spelled it correctly and how excited I was to receive it!! It even has Eeyore on it!

I think everyone at work should have Secret Pals!!
