Joy to my Heart

One of my favorite things to watch each day is the buses leaving school. At the elementary school we have a 'bus loop'. About four buses can pull in at a time. My darling babies clamber on and those four buses leave. Then four more come in and so forth until all ten buses have been filled and filed out. It's amazing to me that we can get over 700 children into some form of transportation (mostly buses) and off the premises in under fifteen minutes. I think I'm witnessing miracles every day.

Even more exciting to watch, however, is the end of the day at the high school. At the end of the day over twenty buses are lined up side to side in the parking
lot. With amazing efficiency the children aboard their rides home and then in just a matter of probably 45 seconds, those buses pull out. The first one pulls out and right on its tail is the second, and so forth. (It kind of reminds me of the scene in the Italian Job where they drive into the subway to stop the train but it's with big yellow buses and not super cute mini coopers)

But no matter how it's done, buses leaving school is truly one of the things that brings joy to my heart.
